I have finished my class requirements for my MA in International Relations, and now there is only one thing standing between myself and having my life back; my thesis on propaganda in the digital age. I am 13 pages away from reaching the requirement, but after writing 67 pages I am starting to lose my will to live. If I hear the word “Wikileaks” again, I may start stabbing things. On top of that, I got engaged right as I was heading into thesis crunch mode. I have been stuck in a library when I would rather be trying on dresses or a DIY craft – I don’t even care what I DIY, I just would rather be doing anything else. I hold my thesis personally responsible for turning me into thesizilla.
Ahh, I have a week left before I hand it in. Please send good vibes, so then I can procrastinate by constantly checking your messages

@Au Jardin: I’m a teacher and there are a million things I would rather be doing than grading papers.
Just keep that in mind. 🙂 We’re all in this together- haha!

I planned my wedding for the entire two years I was getting my master’s. I somehow managed to get a 4.0 and pull together a fantastic (in my opinion) wedding. I just want you to know you can do it!

Yep, you can do it! I planned my wedding the entire time I was getting my masters’! At least you’ll be done 🙂

Sending you tons of good vibes! I’m a grad student too and I’ll be spending Thanksgiving working on 2 presentations and a paper. I can’t imagine what it would be like having to complete a thesis while wedding planning but I know you will kick this thesis’s butt! You can do it!!! 🙂
P.S.- That bright white light at the end of the dark thesis tunnel? That’s you standing in your wedding dress!

I hear you, I need to buy my advisor a bottle of wine once we are done for sure….
Lol!!! I love it, I’ll keep on moving towards the white light at the end!

Give yourself an hour to look at dresses/inspiration/whatever and then keep on plugging through. I’m in the process of applying to grad school and decided to go two weeks before i got engaged. So I got engaged, found my dress and booked a location, and then put wedding stuff on hold until I took the GRE and submitted my first application. It sucked, and there was much procrastination, but in the end, the wedding is one day (one fun day, but one day nonetheless). You’ll carry your masters the rest of your life…you can do it! Give yourself time to be a bride, but devote most of it to your masters work 🙂

I would set up a schedule: 2 hours writing, equals 30 minutes to look at dresses, accessories, and ideas online!
I’m also a grad student and I have to set up things like that for myself to keep up my motivation.

Thank you bees for your support. 90 pages later I’m done, and handed it in today. I feel a little lost now, lol. Guess I should start planning that wedding now.
Out of curiousity, if you wrote a MA thesis, how long was it?
