I did a grad school interview on my birthday of all days lol I was so nervous but it turned out to be much more laid back than I expected. I would be sure to dress nice and go in there like it is a job interview. They asked me questions like, why i chose the school and  what my long and short term goals were. They also gave me lots of information about what to expect if accepted. I started the program Monday!! I am sure you will be fine. Good luck!

I have 3 vet school interviews coming up over the next month (first being this Saturday) so you’re not alone with the nervousness. It’s scary but I think both of us are going to pull through just fine.

I’ve done several – some were one on one and all day (different interviewers) and one was a  group interview that consisted of several discussions and some breakout sessions with touchy topics. They’re definitely stressful but just stay true to yourself and be professional – they obviously like what you’re offering since they invited you!

This probably goes without saying but be unfailingly polite!

Do a search online & see if you can find some practice interview questions specific to your field. Then have a friend or family member “interview” you with those practice questions.   I hate that feeling of being put on the spot–this definitely helps with that.

I’ve had different types of interviews for grad school/internship. Generally they were individual interviews, though my program does have group interviews where several applicants are interviewed at once. The faculty have told me that they are attending to the ways the applicants act in the group. For example, it’s important not to always answer first or to always hang back and respond last. I would encourage you to write down the answers to several of the questions you feel they are likely to ask and practice your responses several times with a partner. Good luck!
