I think that instead of a period it needs to be a comma….and then of course after that “We” won’t be captialized. Other than that yes 🙂

Seems like it would be one sentence, not two. “As two families are becoming one, we ask that you choose a seat and not a side.”

Well the first sentence is incomplete. It should be “As two families are becoming one, we ask you to choose a seat, not a side.” You could also say “As two families become one, we ask you to choose a seat, not a side.”
