I’ve already nixed the whole bridal party dancing into to the reception with a feather boa and sungalsses on thing, and am a big fan of a simple, low key entrance for my new hubby & I. I was wondering…has anyone ever knocked 2 birds with 1 stone and entered the reception WITH their wedding party at the same time? My husband and I would be at the front with our bridal party entering in with us, following behind? There would be a total of 8 bridesmaids/groomsmen, so it wouldn’t be a huge commotion…or would it?
I guess I’ve never seen it before, but kind of like the idea.

I’ve seen it plenty of times! I work at a banquet hall where we do weddings and just last week the couple came in first with the bridal party following. We just had our event coordinator announce them coming in, put some music on, people stood up and clapped, and they made their way to the head table. Pretty low key, but still fun!

I went to a wedding not long ago that the bride, groom, and bridal party all came in under the radar, and a lot of people didn’t know they were there until they sat at the head table. Then the bride and groom stood up and got the mic and introduced their bridal party to the guests, saying what made each one special. It was really sweet and touching!

@blushpink: Where I live, what you are describing is the norm.
