@sjschuller:  I stayed there quite a few years ago (maybe 7 or 8 years) and I loved it! it was huge, jungley and lush and just generally amazing. To date I have been to mexico 5 times and it’s still my favoite. I highly reccomend!

My first vacation with Fiance was at Grand Palladium. We stayed in the White Sands section and it was wonderful. The staff were super friendly and the resort was lovely. Just pack water shoes if you like being in the ocean. We didn’t know to and wish we had.

All the sections were nice. Colonial & Kantenah seemed to have more families, where the other sections were a little more adult. They do have one area that is adult only, but keep in mind if you wander outside of that section, you will obviously run into families, but it wasn’t overwhelming at all.

Not sure if it is still there, but in one of the lobbies (Colonial or Kantenah) there was a cigar bar and it was our favourite one to spend time in later in the evening. It was always mostly empty & oddly nobody in there smoking (we don’t smoke, so was nice to not to have smoke lingering around.) Due to so few people, the service was top notch & the bartenders made us some fabulous top shelf drinks and had fun showing off their bar tricks. Not to mention they gave us lots of great tips about where to go, not go, best beaches, snorkeling, etc and how to avoid the high tour costs. I think it is what helped to make our visit so memorable.

We much prefer Grand Palladium over the highly praised Gran Bahia Principe resorts.
