When I introduced MM to granny (she was  93 at the time) she said “that man looks at her as if he just bought the best candy in the candy store”

lol, my parents freaked out when I told them I would have a bridesman and that Fiance would have a groomsmaid.  “You CAN’T do that!  Everyone will think they’re GAY.  And everyone will be paying attention to them and not you!”  Never mind the fact that the groomsmaid is in a serious relationship with one of the other groomsmen.  We finally just switched them to keep the peace.

I almost died when our pastor opened the ceremony by mentioning seeing my now husband and I when we first started dating- out buying beer.  I looked to my very conservative, very traditonal mother, who was holding her tissue, still smiling.  Turns out the PA failed and she couldn’t hear a thing.  Yes, Momma, I only drink iced tea and I don’t cuss… poor woman, let’s spare her the truth.

We’re each having a maid of honour (our sisters) and best “dudes” (our brothers) and then niece and nephew as Flower Girl and Ring Bearer. Our Mom’s actually concocted this plan together and then “strongly suggested” it.
