My grandmother wanted me to wear her wedding gown which is beautiful but far too small. Our theme falls somewhere between rustic/outdoorsy and vintage?
Our Cocktail hour space has 3 areas that all connect. There is a victorian living room area with couches that alot of the older folks will be drawn to as they can sit and be in the AC. This room leads out to a wrap around porch with an outside bar and is also connected to an additional side room where the 2nd bar is located, so I’m not concerned it will take up space.
The living room area was going to be based around family. There are two mantels-one that will hold my parents wedding photos and my grandparents wedding photos and the other would be for FI’s family. I was going to get an antique maniquinn to display my grandmothers wedding dress next to my families mantel. Would that be strange? I thought it would be a neat touch and add to the history of love feel.
My fiance’ doesn’t hate the idea, but he doesn’t love it.
More feedback would be great to hear!
Above is a picture of one of the mantels(I would place the gown to the left side)
