I’ve been trying to think of what kind of shoe I want for my wedding. I know I want something that’s closed-toe (it will be January and cold!) and will not fall off my foot when I’m dancing. I’m also hoping to get a bit of ankle support because I have double-jointed ankles, and I really don’t want my ankle to flip over and me to fall flat on my face. Finally, I need some heels because I’m a midget compared to Fiance and his family of giants.
I’ve started leaning more and more toward some sort of boot to get the ankle support I want. And then it hit me… Granny boots! Like this awesome pair from Etsy:

Ouch. So people overwhelmingly seem to hate them. Might I ask why?

Hate – even the modern day versions of those…like the little ankle booties…I just dont think they are cute!

I just hate ankle boots. But ultimately it doesn’t really matter what I think, it’s your wedding day and if they make you feel pretty and (better yet!) give you good support, go for it. Then bring pictures back to the bee and prove we’re all boot snobs 😉

just not my style. sorry! but if you like them, go for it! It’s your wedding day

I hate them also, they are just ugly lol.

@PitBulLover: Does it change your mind if they’re slightly taller, like these ones?
Never mind the color there; I’m asking purely about height.

It’s your wedding and your feet. Go for it if it’s what you like regardless of other’s opinions.

I voted hate… But it isn’t hate, it is just that I wouldn’t wear them myself and the most similar option to that was “Hate.”
If you like them, wear them. There are lots of things that other people wear that I never would, and I’m sure the reverse is true as well. If you’re good at fashion, I’m sure you could make them look cute with your style.

it’s not my ‘thang…but if you like them then go for it!!

I think they look like witch boots. Not a fan at all.
And since you asked why… I think they look outdated and ugly.

I think they’re cute, but I’m not as big a fan of them with wedding dresses. But it’s your day and your feet!

I like the second pair you posted better. Not solely because of the height, but because I don’t like the “embroidery” or whatever it is on the first pair.
I think with the right dress and the right wedding style they could be really fun and pretty.

Thanks, everyone! I wanted honest opinions, and I certainly got them. I’ll look at other shoes, too. I like the idea of the granny boots, but I also want to have cute shoes.
