Spam – your friends aren’t actually sending them – they’ve clicked on something that is sending it via them.

In the history of the internet, none of those “share and $1 will be donated” things has been true. It makes me so sad that they continue to ploy on people’s heartstrings and be circulated over and over again – especially since it’s a classic case of “armchair” activism that does NOBODY any good. If you want to donate money to a cause, then go donate it rather than sit on your butt forwarding an email to everyone you’ve ever met/posting a picture on Facebook. Argggg.

I’ve never seen them.  They sound absolutely horrible.

It is a hoax pretty much everytime and some of the photos even violate the Facebook terms regarding postings and content (ie; child pornography). Check out Snopes.com.

These drive me nuts, too. I know they’re scams but a lot of them are things I really don’t want to see popping up out of nowhere on my newsfeed without warning.

I got the one of the German Shepard that some kids had tiad a firecracker in his mouth.  I almost threw up, and started crying.  Fiance thought I was nuts until he saw it.  I couldn’t even read the whole blurb about it, so didnt know it was a spam thing.  I thnk it’s mostly for shock value.

@Take The Reins:   That’s beyond disturbing.  I want to throw up just imagining what you saw.

This post is making me so glad I deactivated my Facebook account. But I remember seeing ones a couple years ago that were of aborted fetuses. It was SO uncalled for.

Definitely spam. Just report it and let your friends know that they are posting spam posts.

FB is usually really good about getting them cleaned up once they get reported and those that were “doing” the spamming can change their passwords and such.

I have a few friends who have gotten into the animal abuse thing recently post at least one picture of an abused animal a day to spread the ’cause’.  The pictures are sick and they make me so sad.  I wish they had an option of ‘types of things’ you can block from your news feeds.  I don’t want to completely block them.  I just don’t want to see their photos they’re posting.

The child abuse ones bother me so bad! I see them everyday and people just keep sharing them for no reason… I wouldn’t want that on my facebook and I don’t want to see it on the main wall. I wish people would stop creating them.
