Oh bees, I hate seeing a gray hair or two or three among my dark roots.
Got me wondering… at what age did you first start getting them?
And if you’re lucky enough to not have any, please feel free to share your age!!!

I started getting gray hair when I was 13! ugh, it’s awful. My mom had the same issue. Be thankful you’re just starting to see them now!

I dont have any but my best friends has some and started getting them around 21 (I know this because i’m her hairdresser. hehe) She always comes over and is like “time to color my hair the greys are popping up.”

@whiteorchid: That is awful! Did your Mom let you color them at all? That’s tough!
@aandmklover: My hair stylist is the one that told me originally, I didn’t know. And I wish she didn’t tell me, ha! But now I see a couple pop up in my part and I feel like grabbing a sharpie marker lol

I’ve had gray hair for a long time. I think I started getting them in high school so I would say probably 16 or 17. Every woman in my family has had gray hair since they were teenagers.

I started noticing them at 23 🙁

OK this is going to sound weird and my hairdresser laughs at me
I am 42 and I want gray hair – I have super baby fine hair and gray hair is supposed to be coarser – so I keep looking – I figure I can color it and maybe it would have more body if it were gray
no luck yet

I don’t have grey hair, I have white hair. I can’t wait until my hair all goes white as I just love the way it looks. I started going white in my early thirties. Most of my white patches are in the back so you can only see them if my hair is up in a pony tale.

@unixfairy: haha my husband is 45 and wants gray hair – he has jet black hair and not 1 gray!
I on the other hand…since I’ve been 27 I’ve had to color my hair every 6 weeks or else it’s a gray mess. I started plucking the grays at around 25, but now if I plucked them I would be half bald! 🙁

I’m 27 and haven’t found any grays yet. My mom is in her mid-fifties and while I’m sure she must have a few they’re not very noticeable. (She has sandy blond hair that I’m pretty sure has never been colored.) Crazy how much variation there is out there!

My Fiance stared going grey at 21, but its still not a whole lot of grey. When he puts gel in it, it looks dark. I noticed that his cousin (who is 22) has some grey hair. I guess it runs in his family?

I’m 21, almost 22, and have been getting white hairs since I was about 18. A couple of my aunts went grey during college, too.

I did find any until I hit 40. Mine are actually snow white.
And I know this is a Too Much Information, but it’s really a shock when you get grey (or white)…”down south”. You can’t dye those suckers!

I’m 26 and have no gray hair yet. My mom is 58 and barely has any (she doesn’t colour her hair). My dad is the same age and his hair is pretty much white now. My hair is just like my mom’s, so things are looking good for me!

I have gorgeous, long thick hair. It’s so thick that people come up to try to “pet” my hair. I’ve been dying it since I was about 17 because of ALL effing gray hair. My mother who had similar hair told me that’s the cost of having thick hair …. yeah .. 🙁
