I’ve never seen a gray hair on my own, but my hairdresser has twice.  Once when I was 23, and once this year (25).  She found one hair, each time.  Freaks me out, and I’m not a fan of the texture either!

I started finding them at around age 19 (I’m almost 24 now) and they stand out pretty obviously against my very dark brown hair.  At this point, there are few enough of them that I can just pluck them out although I know this won’t last forever.

All three of my dad’s sisters started going gray in college, my dad’s hair is salt and pepper (but has way more “salt” to it!), and my mom also has quite a bit of gray but has dyed her hair for years and years to cover it.  So it runs in the family!

@unixfairy: You don’t want the gray hairs, honest. I also have baby fine hair and the gray ones are just as fine.  No added texture at all.  Of course, that could be because my gray ones really look more white to me.  But I get your point.  I’d be willing to deal with grays in exchange for better texture.

I noticed my first gray hairs at 28.  I have no idea how mwny I have now.  I started coloring then and haven’t stopped.  I don’t really think I have a lot more, but I’m not taking any chances.

I’m 28 and still haven’t found any grey yet. Fingers crossed I still have a ways go to before they start coming in. I believe my mother didn’t start dying her hair until her early 40s.

I’m 24 and have yet to find a gray hair. I do have lighter hair naturally, so maybe I just haven’t found it yet!

This is funny! I remember when I saw my first gray hair. I was 26 years old, and in my car at a traffic light and I looked in the rearview mirror, and there it was, sticking up, on the crown of my head. I actually screamed out loud when I saw it. That was 19 years ago. I dye my hair now because I am mostly gray, and actually when I dye my hair, the grey stransa actually come out as lighter highlighted sections and looks very nice.

I started noticing it sophomore year in college…. now it’s all over. Get it? ALL OVER!!! My brother is 31 and he has an almost clean shaved look but he’s almost totally gray. My sister started getting it in middle school and my baby brother is 16 and he’s gray too. It’s a dominant gene in my family. I don’t mind it though, except when I see it in ‘that place’

I’ve had white hairs since high school.  I’m asian, too, so I have black hair.  It really sticks out. I used to pluck them in high school. Now I don’t care. Unless, it is sticking out by itself.

Im 23 and haven’t found any yet. I’m not sure if that’s because I have blonde hair making it less noticeable though. DH started getting greys in early college I believe? He has quite a bit and it stands out on his black hair. It doesn’t really seem to be getting much worse though. He’s 25.
