I was 29 when we got engaged, and I will be 31 on our wedding day next year. A few years ago, I had my first gray hair, but it was only one or two so I just plucked them. Now, it’s about 10-15 hairs (that I notice) to be plucked very other month or so. I’m just wondering how fast this usually escalates? Does it stay at this level or does it quickly go to more and more gray every year? What has been your experience?
I’m honestly not too upset about it, I try to look at all signs of aging as maturing and living, but I am worried about needing cover-up or dye by the time of the wedding. I’m probably being silly, but I want the pictures to look timeless! And I definitely don’t want to be gray showing if my groom isn’t (same age, but he has good genes!)

My first gray hair was pointed out to me by my sister a few months ago. I’m 27. I haven’t found any since then.

I’m 31 and haven’t found a grey hair yet. However, that doesn’t mean I don’t have them. I’ve been dying my hair since I was 15 and honestly don’t even know what it’s natural colour is like any more. When I miss a few months and get roots, they don’t liik grey but there could well be a few in there.
One of my Bridesmaids started going grey at about 20, by 31 she was very grey at the front. She dyed her hair for the first time ever about a month ago as she decided she was too young to look that grey.
My Fiance is the same age and has a few but not many yet.

Probably around 28 or 29. The problem wasn’t finding the first one though. The problem was 2-3 years later, when they seemed to suddenly multiple overnight and I could no longer just snip the 5 or so that were there in the beginning.

I have probably 100 grey hairs and I’m 25. I used to be upset about it (especially because my mom is 56 and has none!) but eh what are you gonna do? Easy enough to dye your hair, and its not really important enough to dwell on. 🙂

I’ve had gray hairs forever! Probably noticed them around 22 or 23. I’ve been dying my hair ever since. Now at 32, I have a lot of gray hair. Oh well, fact of life I guess!

I couldn’t vote, because I found my first grey at 15! Well, actually, my supervisor at Taco Bell did. At some point in time I apparently went through some stressful shit (not surprising, hah) which lead to my developing a Stacey London-esque shock of grey hair right at my temple. It’s not very large–probably about 10 hairs in total–but it’s pretty obvious, depending on how I wear my hair. Sometimes I wish it was more so I could at least rock the London look, but.

I’ve been bottle dying my gray roots once a month for 5 years now. I’m 34. Got it from my mom who also bottle dyed her hair all the time when I was a kid. Sucks cuz I have naturally brown-black hair.

I don’t have any gray hairs, but I have plenty of white ones. I found the first one at age 24. I’m 29 now.

I started getting them in my early 20’s. Mine are more of a white than gray so I can blend them with highlights. I’m now 30 and have maybe 10-15 total, so not bad. The progression for everyone is different so it’s hard to say how fast you will get more. My mother is in her latr 40’s and is about 60-70% gray so i’m somewhat expecting that for myself also. Yay for hair color
