I’ve seen quite a few posts about good barn venues in the Central New York area and I thought I’d pass along a few suggestions.
I’m a wedding planner based in Syracuse and have personally worked at these sites — I think they’re both still a little under the venue radar!
The first option is Mandana Barn in Skaneateles, NY: http://mandanabarn.com/ The website isn’t terribly helpful, but I have quite a few more images of the space if anyone is interested in seeing more.
The second option is The Frog Pond B&B in Skaneateles, NY: http://www.frogpondbandb.com/index.htm Again, the website isn’t terribly helpful, but their carriage barn is beautiful. High ceilings, stained glass windows in the loft area, a double barn door entrance, etc. They can send you additional images or I’d be happy to send over some if anyone is interested in seeing some photos.
Hope that helps you guys!

I’m currently debating between having a more traditional spring wedding or a slightly rustic fall wedding. My fiance and I aren’t huge fans of getting married in a barn but I would love to see some pictures from the Frog Pond B&B. Also if you know of any other less barn-like yet still slighty rustic venues, please let me know. We’re trying to stay under 10k and about 125 guests. I’m also planning from VA so places that have lots of pictures on their websites help a LOT. Thanks!

@MLH Events: I am currently looking at both venues for my October 2013 wedding. Could you email me some photos of both?

hi there, I went and looked at the frog pond b&b. I loved the venue but not their pricing. They recently updated their rental cost to $3000 and you have to rent all 2 rooms for two nights(understandable) but that rate increased as well this year. You would also have to rent your own bathroom facilities because they are on a septic. Hope this helps for the cost aspect. Again tho, the grounds are beautiful. They have a full slideshow file they show when visiting, maybe they could send that file to you via email.
