Looking for a great venue for our engagement shoot in November somewhere near the South Shore. Would rather not do a beach because our wedding will be on a beach, so want something different. Fall theme is fine- pumpkin patch or orchard, any ideas?

There are a ton of great apple orchards around the state! Arnold Arboretum is also a very pretty location if you want garden-esq pictures.
We’re doing ours this coming week (eek!) around downtown Boston/ Beacon Hill area to get some city-shots in with foliage.

Hingham: harborside, a few pretty gazebos
Hull: carousel, mini golf
Carver: King Richard’s Fair
Lots of towns: farmer’s markets, homecoming football games and festivals
Check online or local newspapers for fall events like fairs and pumkin picking. Most of the SS is too suburban to offer many “picturesque” locations, but if you venture to the west or north a bit (more rural areas) you’ll find better foliage and prettier landscapes.
If you think of any more specific requirements, let me know and I might be able to come up with something.

How near the South Shore does it have to be?
DeCordova sculpture park in Lincoln, MA has two giant heart sculptures in one of the smaller fields out front–you can get a shot with the hearts in the background, and just trees all around (mostly evergreens, though, so not a lot of fall color).
Here’s a good link to most MA orchards, too; Fiance and I always go to HoneyPot but there are several that I think will be closer to your region: http://www.allaboutapples.com/orchard/ma03.htm
Your photog may also have some good suggestions…we’re doing our e-shoot in New Hampshire since that’s where our photographer lives (although he is coming to us for the wedding, of course!) and we’re mostly putting ourselves in his hands in terms of backdrops that suit our interests; does your photographer maybe have suggestions on his/her blog?
