@cherryblossomlove: I am having SUCH a hard time with colors. For some reason I always imagined a light pink wedding but I always wanted to get married in October lol. I didnt even think twice about that.

I am rethinking the pink and just planning on using more fall colors ( girls dresses will probably be red) I will have red roses and to accent the room with gold uplighting as well as gold, red and fall flowers for their flowers. I figure that would be best for the time of year.

I love the candy apple idea! I saw a great website that had speciality candy apples and fell in love and thought that was what we would be doing for our favor. Then i saw the price: 4.99 an apple! We are now doing a candy buffet with our wedding colors. I’m excited about it.

Hi Ladies! I am struggling with my colors too and like Cheesy Potatoes, I always invisioned light and airy colors for my wedding. So, I just decided to say ‘the heck with it’ and pick things I like. My venue has white chairs and ivory walls so rather than having them compete, I will just use shades of white throughout my decorations. I saw a picture in the same space with gray table cloths and I thought it complimented the space well so I am using gray. So whites, gray, and silver for decor and I am thinking of one stronger accent color, like a deep purple, blue or green. Thats where I am stuck!

I love deep reds and burgandy colors for fall! It is so romantic. (my sis already used that theme for hers so I don’t want to copy).

For favors I decided to go with something simple, edible and cheap. My Future Mother-In-Law and I are making a white round cookie and chocolate covered truffle to put in little boxes at the table. We can make the truffles and cookies in advance and they freeze well. The boxes are about $30 for 150 and with ribbon and baking costs I think I can stay around $50-$60 for all of them.

I like the idea of candy apples and I am sure you can make your own for relatively cheap (or set up a station where folks can make their own). Who doesn’t like to eat them! Apple cider mulling spices might also be a cute idea for fall (and not as perishable).

Mine was a little bit of a challenge, but more due to choosing the shades that would work well together for my two colors. I just went with mine and my DH’s favorite colors, and after that it was a bit easier to narrow things down to the shades and what not based on when the wedding was and the feel I wanted to achieve.

@cherryblossomlove: if you really want to go with pink, you still totally can as it fits into an october wedding, I mean october is breast cancer awareness month and thats a pink ribbon. Just wanted to point that out.

Good luck with the planning and choosing colors!

My girls are going to be in Alfred Angelo Berry dresses with gold and light pink jewelry and gold shoes. My flowers are going to be bright yellow and orange. Obviously we’re going with fall colors. I love how bright and vibrant they are! 🙂

I’m thinking of apple cider mix in cone shaped bags like the PP has, apple butter, or caramel apples. Not sure yet. But I really like the way the little bags of cider will look.

Candy apples can be hard, most companies who ship them will only do ones that are covered chocolate, nuts or similar stuff because the candy coating can melt and stick all over the package in a gooey mess. Essentially, they don’t ship well. But price aside, they are an awesome idea.

I’ve been to a fall wedding that the favor was fresh maple syrup though and it was really nice! Got to think of the bride and groom the next time we had pancakes 🙂

Another idea would be a personal size pumpkin or pecan pie, I would love to receive that haha.

@MrsSawyer: Yeah if we did do the apples we would be DIYing them. It cost over $100 to ship them from the company we were looking into because they ship them overnight to prevent melting and what not. And they only shipped apples at certain times of year. So my OCt 6th wedding may not have apples in time.

I also like the idea of using the candy apples to let your guests know where they are sitting. Just die a namecard with name and table on the apple and line them up alphabetically on the front entrance table.

Cute ideas!! Im geting married in October also but I’m not going to go with fall colors just because Im getting married in the fall. I think you should just go with any color palette you like so your not limiting yourself, unless of course you want to go wth fall colors which is lovely as well.
