I was really looking forward to having my nice long natural nails but now I will probably have to get acrylics or gel nails for the big day. Has this happened to anyone else and what did you do with your nails to fix it!?!?!?!

You can try superglue if the ripped part is still attached, though honestly, it’s probably the smallest deal ever on the list of things that can and will go wrong during the week leading up to your wedding. It’ll be fine, even if you do get gel tips. Remember to breathe. Good luck!

I broke my thumbnail ON my wedding day while I was hurrying to button my jeans to go get…wait for it…my nails done. I just super-glued it into place and it was fine, but yeah, I wouldn’t put that at the top of the worry list. No one will be staring at your hands:)

you guys are so right…it just is sooooo funny that the nails that broke are my ring finder and middle finger on my left hand

Ugh that stinks Im sorry. I wouldnt stress to much you can glue it like the other ladies said, or get them done.

Get acrylics. Or, just don’t worry about it. Have all your nails cut short and neat and get a manicure. I am 100% sure that nobody will care or notice.

@tkvogel: The same thing happened to me. I went and had silk false nails. They looked great. I removed them after two weeks as a couple had broke but my own nails haven’t recovered yet, they’re weak so are breaking easily, never had such weak nails.

You could also try Shellac- I have heard that it is a little gentler on nails than acrylics (but I have never tried myself). I also agree with crayfish- short, neat nails look great too.

Having acrylic nails done once won’t kill your nails if you go to a quality place.
If you are interested in having your real nails grow quickly visit a local salon and pick up some nail grow stuff (has an orange horse on the front). Apply it like nail polish and your nails will grow really quick and will be stronger. Also, if you can pick up some Biotin softgels/tablets in the next day or so take the maximum dose to help with growth.
You can grow quite a bit in a week with the right tools. 🙂

Don’t worry, you can get two false gel/silk nails and kept your others. The can cover them all in the gel and you wont be able to tell the difference!

Super glue (or nail glue) and a small piece of coffee filter will fix the damage. Once it dries, smooth everything out with an emery board and apply polish. Usually it isn’t even noticable after you polish your nails.
Hope this helps!
