I know that not everyone would be into this movie, especially since most of us are women…but one of the best movies I’ve ever seen in my life, I saw a few weeks ago.

Warrior.

Its a drama about broken family relationships and the 2 sons are MMA fighters who hate eachother (or so they think).  I’m usually only into comedies and kid movies (i have NO kids, LOL) but this movie really sucked me in.  I don’t think I breathed or blinked the entire time…its so emotional! And by the end I was standing on the couch.

See it.

The Ides of March – political drama with George Clooney as a Presidential candidate and Ryan Gosling as one of his campaign leaders, Marisa Tomei as a reporter, and Evan Rachel Wood as a campaign intern.

I agree with Ides of March. I would also add Bridesmaids if you haven’t already seen it.

  • My Life Without Me – on eof my all time favorite movies. It’s probably 7 or 8 years old, but just amazing. Movies almost never make me cry, even tear jerkers, but this one? Totally. A woman is diagnosed w/ cancer, and it has to do w/ how she deals & her family.
  • Royal Tenenbaums – another favorite. Bizarre family w/ 3 grown children who all end up briefly back at home.
  • Cowboys vs Aliens – my partner and I just watched this earlier. It’s nothing deep, but kept my attention and was a little funny
  • Bridesmaids – totally not usually my type of movie but loved it and laughed so hard

The Help. Almost as good in movie form as in the book, and that’s saying something!

@justmoi22:  That movie is now in my top 5 of all time.  I DO NOT have a crush on Tom Hardy, but there are some great actors in that movie! I was happy to see that Nick Nolte was nominated for an oscar this year for playing the father.  Geez, I might have to rent it again!

Battle Royal (Japanese with subtitles)

My favorite movies all revolve around the Holocaust (I have always felt strangely close to it)

-Life is Beautiful

-The Pianist

-The Boy in the Striped Pajamas
