“Waiting for a guy to do the asking is like waiting for world peace; sounds like a great idea — but who knows when it’ll actually happen.”
and of course….
“When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.”

I think that second one makes a lot of sense for some people, but I also think there are others that it doesn’t make sense for. Some people just don’t look to the future and focus entirely on the right-now. That’s what my SO is like and he’s just now starting to think about the future, but it took a long time for him to realize that sometimes if you don’t plan for the future, then you get screwed over. So I think in general, it’s a great quote; but it won’t make sense if you’re one of those people who are blissfully happy with the right-now.

@LaurenK0105: Or in some of our cases some guys think “the rest of your life” has already started because you’re living together and basically already are married aside from the paper and/or ceremony. No rush to do anything in that case…

@LaurenK0105: My SO is alot like this. Weird thing is he’s very interested in saving up for retirement – just nothing in between lol.

Ha – my SO is the same way. Says “just go with the flow” and “let’s evolve naturally” BUT he is obsessed with saving for retirement. I never thought about relating the two “things” – interesting! Or he’ll say “focus on the here and now.”

Second quotes makes sense to me. I’m the person who thinks about the future and bf is more of a “go with the flow” person. Is it me or do more guys tend to be “go with the flow” people?
