Just took a floral arranging class today and realized how ridiculously easy it is to make bouttonieres (3 minutes each) and bouquets (well, I got the hang of it). I decided to do my own, and I’m getting a calligrapher with the money I’m saving lol. But anyway, I wanted to share with you a tip I got from the instructor. He said his #1 tool is Flora Life Crowning Glory liquid wax spray- it keeps the flowers from dehydrating. It’s a really fine mist spray and apparently it does a great job of keeping the flowers fresh.
You can only buy it online, unless you’re a florist. He also said that he makes Saturday wedding bouquets on WEDNESDAY! He soaks the flowers so they get super hydrated, arranges them, sprays them with the wax, and keeps them in the cooler.
He said the boutonnieres that he makes last for WEEKS. I made a bouquet and a bouttoniere as part of the class, so I’m going to see how long they last. The plan now, is to do all the florals Thursday morning for my Friday wedding.
