My husband and I are planning a vow renewal ceremony and this is the venue I am thinking about using. http://www.alplm.org/facility_rental/museum_plaza.html
I love history and love this museum, so I am thinking that it would be very appropriate. If you were a guest at this event, which would include the vow renewal and anniversary reception (dinner and dancing), would you see this as an appropriate place? Rental also includes access to the museum for our guests. What are your impressions of it from the link? Thank you for your input.

Gorgeous!!! I would love going to a different venue like that.

Maybe I’m just a complete nerd (really, that’s entirely possible), but I would love to go a reception there! It looks so elegant and I think it’d be the perfect place to host any kind of party.

@MrsFuzzyFace: I think it’s AWESOME. (But in the interest of fairness, I am a nerd.)

I’m not a nerd, and I think it’d be great! I love alternative wedding venues – the Science Center here offers receptions in the planetarium, under the stars – I think that’s so cool!

I think it’s awesome, but then again I’m also getting married in a museum. It seems like the room is grand enough to where the exhibit is more of a backdrop than the main focus. Very nice.

I think it’s awesome! I love alternate wedding venues – especially when the venue relates to the couple and their interest.

I would be so excited to go to a wedding there!

I love it! Note: I am a bit of a nerd also, but I really love non-traditional wedding/reception venues. This museum looks awesome! Go for it!

- Wedding: August 2013 - Brookfield Zoo
Very cool, and looks beautiful too!

I love events at museums, they are always so fun and interesting (and educational!). My Darling Husband and I attended an awards dinner for his company at a children’s museum in Southern California and it was a blast.

It appears to be really popular to get married in a museum here in NC. I keep seeing pictures from museum weddings. It’s way out of my budget (and our wedding is small) so it is unrealistic for us. But if you like it and can do it? ABSOLUTELY! It’s a great idea!
