Most photographers in my area are in the 1500-2000 range. Howver, the photographer I’m using is new to the area and is starting her own company so her prices are really low and she does great work. She’s charging 700 for 1 engagement session and 4hours of the wedding day.

Do I have to pick 1??? I picked photography: $800 for all day coverage by a pro and digital copies of edited photos with right to print everything.

But I’m also saving over 50% by providing alcohol myself, and a family friend is letting me use his outdoor bar set-up as a wedding gift.

I’m also making all the personal and centerpiece flowers, so they’e dirt cheap, but very time consuming.

My venue is free, but I had to rent an expensive tent, so that kind of evens out.

Jewelry has been super cheap. My e-ring was a custom made ring from 2 heirloom rings (one from my side, one from his). Because it’s got great side detailing I’m not going to wear a wedding band with it, but I bought a band for the honeymoon for less tha $10 on amazon. I thinkmy fiance’s wedding band was aour $25. And I’m wearing my grandmother’s earrings (my something borrowed) on wedding day. And my dress doesn’t need a necklace.

And food is $14.50 pp for dinner, so I think that’s pretty good.

Cousin’s doing my hair ( and my 3 bridesmaids) as her wedding present. So that’s free.

If you can’t tell, I’m alll about getting a deal!

Our photographer/videographer is also doing a photobooth and their regular price is $1295 just for the photobooth, but for the first person to book on any specific day they cut it nearly in half and it’s $695. Because we’re planning everything so early we were the first ones and we got our photobooth for almost halfprice!

I bought my wedding band online at store that was having a closing sale for over 50% off what my local jeweler was selling it for.

    Videography & Flowers.

My Fiance went to film school and has stayed good friends with one of his classmates, I even babysit for his kids every once in a while. Him and his company offered to shoot everything for free.

Also one of my past brides who i’ve stayed close friends with, her parents used to run a flower shop and they still have contacts, offered to call their friends for the flowers (which I would pay for) and then they’ll do the arrangments for free.

I would still buy a gift/ tip of course but its deff going to help save me a ton! 🙂

Our venue. They cut their normal price by over 30% which is unheard of for a June wedding. It would still be worth it even if it were 3 times the price.

My dress. My initial dress budget was $1500, then I joined the bee, learned about Chinese sellers and ordered something completely custom (not a knockoff or copy of any other dress) to my exact measurements for $419 including shipping. I don’t see how I could’ve beat that with a bat!

Close runner up would be hair/makeup. My good friend who is building her MUA portfolio is coming to do my hair and makeup for my rehearsal dinne, facials/eyebrow shaping for my girls and me during our spa day and makeup (for all the girls) and hair  (for me) the morning of my wedding. For the whopping price of a plane ticket!

Probably flowers!  My dad looooves gardening and is planting about 50 square feet of flowers for our wedding.  That combined with their hundreds of mason jars from canning veggies from said garden = basically free centerpieces and bouquets/bouts.

DJ.  My fiancé is in a band and owns all the equipment needed to dj (and then some).  We are going to pay a friend to run the stuff.  Like $200-300.  A lot cheaper than $1500-$3000 it could have been with dj or band.  FI dad and brother both have bands as well.  There might be a few songs played live too.  Not sure yet.

@lawbride88:  Well, we’re planning 200 guests and will be hosting a Welcome Dinnner the night before, the Wedding Ceremony and Reception (including cocktail hour with apps), and a Farewell Brunch the day after. My budget includes everything except my dress (grandmother paid for that) and my  engagement ring and the honeymoon. So that includes my makeup and hair products for the wedding, which I will certainly use after, and all the little details. Right now our estimated budget is just under $20K.

And I’m also having friends do the officiating (2 of them) and cermony usic (solo guitar)       and so I won’t be paying them, but will be getting them gifts. Gifts are ending up a signnificant part of my budget…

    I’ll say photography and decor.

Photography: decent photographers around here start at $3000+. I didn’t actually know that until recently, but our photographer is amazing and we booked her for $1300. We get an engagement session, 9 hours day-of, two shooters, DVD with images in a custom case (engagement)/mini album (wedding), ~10 image sneak peek, print rights. (Plus any help I’ve needed because she’s pretty awesome.)

Decor: between Dollar Store stuff votive holders, upcycled wine bottles, internet finds + coupons, borrowed items, and a little paint, I think our tables are about $9 each for decor. The backdrop we’re using for both the ceremony and reception is going to be about $50 (the piping was a little more expensive than planned).

Ooh, and invitation suite (STDs, invites, RSVP cards, reception cards, and thank you cards).

I designed them myself and had them printed through Vistaprint with Groupons. I think the total ended up being like $65 or so for 80.
