I’m looking for any Greece Destination Wedding brides – past, present & future.
My Fiance and I are considering doing a Santorini destination wedding and I would love to hear about your experiences, see your pictures, learn more about the process and where to get started.

@MissDenop: I’m pretty new to WB, otherwise I would have answered your post earlier. I’m from the US and getting married in Greece (not Santorini) in Spring 2015.
There are several sites you can Google for planning – which could include venue, lodging, flowers, food, license, photographer, etc. I know you have to have your documents/marriage certificate filed with the registror (like country court clerk) and they will translate documents so they are Legal in your home county – if not, it’s not legal recognized.
Hope this helps you.

hey me too!! I am also looking at other greek islands as well. It’s so intimidating to try and deal with the legalities!

@cassadina: I don’t know if you have already choosen an island, but one of my favorites is Sifnos. You can rent a small villa right on the beach, has a great night life for young people, secluded beach coves all around island and not as expensive as Santorini. Rent a car for a few days to explore & bus the rest of the time, the locals are very tourist friendly there.

@MissDenop: @zoecn: She’s not from Santorini, but my friend Kelly from A Savvy Event (http://asavvyevent.com) is an amazing wedding planner. I’m a photographer and I’ve recently been sending tons of brides her way. Even though she isn’t in Greece, she works out of Napa (one of the biggest wedding regions in the world) and she has an awesome team that would find absoultely everything you needed for your wedding. She’s that good. I would recommend her for a wedding anywhere.

We are getting married at Dana Villas – Santorini, our wedding planner is Poema Weddings, I must say they are amazing, I’m a control freak, and they have made my planning process totally stress free so far. They answer every single of over 100 emails from me, go to a few location to check out the wedding venue and check out the vendors when we visited Greece in April. Highly recommend them. Beware that there are a lot wedding planners in Santorini that do not live in the island full time; and some will just make a booking for you and not stay during your wedding date, with Poema Weddings it is in their contract that they will manage our wedding before and during the events (their team is of 5 people so you wont need worry on the wedding date will only rely on 1 person), also helping we and all our guests with their requests (transport, baby sitter, accomodation etc).
This is their facebook page
And Dana Villas Wedding Website:
I also recommend to organise via a trustworthy wedding planner instead of DIY or organise through travel agent, we are from Australia and my FH is Greek; but we decided to use a wedding planner due to slow communication from the vendors, and we want it to be a stress free event plus I cant imagine how to organise with all the decoration, cake, flowers etc. if we will be in the island 2 days before the wedding date, and most of out guests/family will be there only 1 day before the wedding date.
