All my life I have been dying to go to Greece and we are leaning toward it for our honeymoon. We get married in Nov. and want some time to save for the honeymoon so anytime next year. We have a friend who has a family house in Crete that we could probably stay at (fingers crossed!). So wondering if anyone has any advice on time of year, restaurants, things to do, pros/cons, ANYTHING about your experience in Greece! Thanks 🙂

Crete is a wonderful island; i enjoyed it a lot more when i was there in spring then when i was there in August /September (so freaking hot!) . So if you’re sensitve to the heat, make sure to go during a cooler period. What are you mainly interested in? history? nature? the beach?

Thank you! We are a very active couple so we like hiking, swimming, sailing, etc. I love the bach, but Fiance not so much haha. We are also huge foodies and love authentic greek cuisine. Lastly, I would say we are very social people and would love to meet local people, have drinks and great conversations, along with some dancing if possible 🙂

I haven’t been to Crete, but I was in Naxos and Syros (sp?). If you can catch a ferry to check out a few other islands it’s a great idea. I really disliked Mykanos, but it does have an active nightlife, so if that’s your thing it might be worth the trip as well.
So excited for you…and jealous! It sounds like you’re going to have an amazing honeymoon.
