greeneyedgal13 :  I wouldn’t suggest it. Also the islands practically shut down during off season so many hotels may not even be open. I would either go somewhere else or wait until the following summer to go to the Greek islands.

greeneyedgal13 :  I wouldn’t. We went at the beginning of April and it was cold, rainy, and most things hadn’t yet opened for the season. Think out-of-season beach town – it’s nice and quiet, but can also be hard to find dinner! And it’s DEFINITELY not beach weather.

ETA: If you plan to do any island hopping via high speed ferry – there’s a good chance you’ll be SOL as the ferry routes are seasonal, too. We apparently had booked the very first day of the ferry season in mid-April when we were getting from Crete to Santorini….and our ferry was cancelled due to high winds. They didn’t know when the ferry would be operational (and not talking hours…talking DAYS). We wound up having to get a cruise ship back to Athens from Crete, and then getting a last min flight out to Santorini ($$$). Lost an entire day doing so (the cruise ship took 8 hours), and cost about an extra $700 just to get to our island. Go in-season, deal with the crowds, and know that you’ll likely have a great trip.
