- Wedding: June 2017 - Greenspot Farms
We got married on June 10 at Greenspot Farm in Mentone, CA. It’s a Christmas tree farm, pumpkin patch, bee farm, ranch with all kinds of animals and an awesome outdoor venue that is basically diy everything which is exactly what we wanted to save money. I love the venue the owners/staff are meh and NO help but if you are determined and have an awesome team of friends and family then the venue is amazing!!! I thought I would include a rough price breakdown because I know these types of things really helped me when I was in my planning and budgeting stage!!

Misc. Decor – Picked up from yard sales or craigslist post for cheap and gifted to me by my grandmother.
The beer and wine was purchased and gifted to us by parents of the groom. Signs were made by father of the groom. Lawn games made by groom & father. Hard alcohol was honestly misc bottles left over from parties and a couple picked up from Bevmo.
Everything except the tables, chairs, and dance floor were purchased instead of rented. After the wedding we had a huge wedding sale and made back a good chunk of our money.
The women got ready in the “Honey Room” which gave a cute rustic location for getting ready shots. Some of them turned out amazing. I was questioning whether I should do getting ready pics or have my photographer stay an hour later in the reception – I’m glad I have the getting ready pics with my girls (and my pup)!
We had a short 20 minute ceremony in which we did a wine ceremony and a love letter time capsule ceremony. As we walked down the aisle guests had bubbles and a few people had bubble guns. I love bubbles.
While we were taking photos with the photographer guests were free to drink and snack. We had a photo booth set up as well as lawn games. The venue also had a playground as well that several kids utilized. Plus a bunch of people went to look at/feed the various animals. The venue also offers train rides or tractor rides at an additional cost (we didn’t elect to have this and out guests were so entertained with what we did provide).
During the photos we found a maze and it made for some great photos because it was so green.
Our wedding favors were fun pin buttons made by myself and my fiance. We also had custom snapchat filters which were so fun!!
One thing we did splurge on were dance lessons for our first dance. The only people that knew were my grandparents who had gifted us the lessons. Our guests were so surprised when we did an actual dance and we had so much fun!
For dinner we had chicken breast, salmon, ham, salad, and macoroni salad plus dinner rolls.
For dessert we had our donut wall which EVERYONE loved and we also had a s’more bar around the bon fire. Our cake was shaped like a donut and topped with my little family (me, husband, and our 2 fur babies). I bought this off etsy and the seller was amazing!! I still have this on display in my house and plan to make it a christmas ornament one day.
Overall, the planning and organizing the wedding drove me batty and I was so stressed. Several times I wished we would have just eloped. All the planning paid off though because the day was so fun. I know I’ve said “so fun” several times in my post already but thats exactly how I would describe my wedding for myself and my guests. There was so much to do and all my guests said they had a great time. It also ran very smoothly and there we no hiccups.
Best day ever!!!! And now, pictures:
Sorry this post had so many pictures and was so long but I smile everytime I think about it. Best day of my life!!!
