I’ve seen so many menus posted on here that sound so delicious, now I’m looking at what we’re having thinking it’s boring and not fancy enough.
Our caterer is a grill company, so keep that in mind. It’s looking like it’ll be a buffet but with an RSVP option so we have an idea of how much of what to order. We’ll probably order a bit extra of each thing just to be safe.
Boneless, skin-on grilled chicken breast marinated in and mopped with our Critter Sauce (herbs, wine, vinegar, secrets and spices). Garnished with Lemon and Orange Rounds, Sweet Red & Yellow Peppers, Fresh Herbs & Flowers’
Critter Grilled Sliced Sirloin Steak-Marinated then Dry Rubbed and Grilled to Perfection… Choose(2) sauces from Horseradish, Bearnaise, Chimichurri, Gorgonzola,Critter’s House-made Steak Sauce or Red Wins/Shallot Marmalade
Maple/lemon glazed salmon
House salad, smashed garlic potatoes (we may add extras to this to make it a mashed potato bar with toppings like cheese, sour cream, bacon bits etc.) and vegetable kabobs.
Dinner is $24/per person (labor included) does that sound good?
We’re thinking of doing apps on our own. We’d probably have some friends make caprese skewers, mini lobster rolls and have a cheese/cracker table. Any other good ideas for what we could do on our own? Dinner will start at 6 or 6:30 so it’s not going to be late.
After dinner we’ll have cake, an ice cream sundae bar (probably vanilla, chocolate and pepermint stick ice cream and candy toppings), smores (with assorted flavored graham crachers/marshmallows/chocolate) by the fire and possibly a popcorn bar with different seasonings. I want people to have things to eat while drinking but this seems like a lot of sweets which is why we like the popcorn too.
Boring? Too much sweet after dinner? Unbalanced? Not enough apps? What would you all think of this?
Thanks in advance for any input!
