We would average $120 AUD dollars a week for the both of us and thats what I considered pretty good by australian standards to do a shop that cheap. Everything is pretty expensive and we dont have coupons in australia to go shopping with thats including fresh food, meat.. washing powder cleaning stuff and everything else.

We are pretty good at sticking to the budget and we cook almost all dinner meals at home except depending on weekend plans. We also like to have people over for dinner, so i make sure I can get something that can feed 6 people for dinner on the weekend.

Fi just showed me our last few month’s budget.  We’ve spent ~$350/month on groceries and a little over $200/month on eating out or take-out.  We were getting a little crazy with the latter and set the $200 limit which is proving hard to stick to (and the only reason we’ve prolly done as well as we have is because neither of us really drinks when we go out to dinner).  Looking back, we definitely waste a lot of groceries.  COnsidering my company caters my breakfast & lunch, we should really be much lower than we are.  I need to pay better attention to quantity that I buy and cook because we end up throwing out a LOT of food=(

we spend on average $400 / month for groceries and go out to eat maybe once a week. we try not to spend that much but trying to eat cleanly / organic its just more expensive. Embarassed

our cart consists of $30 of FI’s food, and $95 of “my” food. its a common argument between us but i try to tell him that eating healthy just costs more and i can’t live on 59 cent burritos like he can.

Nice – I’m sort of glad I live in the middle of nowhere farming community now.  We cook almost everyday, breakfast, most lunches and almost all dinners for under $200.

I’d say we spend about $40 a month on milk, eggs, and cheese, and honey (we get it from a local dairy).  With that we make our own yogurt that we have for breakfast every morning.

$55 for our csa each month, mainly veggies but also chicken and fruits

$60 on nuts and grainy products and chocolate

$40 on tofu, tiny bit of meat, and other random stuff.

So we’re big cookers from scratch, which saves us a lot of $$ I think.

We eat out for dinner probably around twice a month and probably like once a week for lunch.

We spend about $500/month. We do not eat out AT ALL unless it’s a family dinner, in which case we’re usually treated anyway. We both love Whole Foods, and that was the deal… we could buy the more expensive food that we love (within reason, we’re still on a tight budget) as long as it was all we bought food-wise. If we’re going to be out somewhere, we pack some food. The end result is that we’ve been cooking a lot more, and we have a lot more healthy food, but we’re totally flabbergasted when we go to restaurant in the suburbs with family and their vegetarian option is like… pizza or pasta.

That bill is also on the high side because it includes our cats’ food. We get it at Petco or Whole Foods depending on what’s easiest at the time, but it is pretty pricey.

We spend about $500 a month on groceries. I don’t buy anything pre-packaged, we get a lot of fresh produce, meats, fish, etc. And we go out to dinner about twice a month, plus I eat out lunch everyday sooo our grocery bill is ridonk! The price you pay for living in a big city 🙁

We probably average about $250 every month?  I cook most nights and pack my lunch nearly every day, but Fiance does not pack his lunch. He’s usually too busy to eat lunch.  Fiance tends to run to Sheetz for snacks before dinner though, so I guess that’s the equivalent of buying his lunch.  We eat out MAYBE twice a week, and it’s usually takeout.

My fiance & I spend anywhere from $60-$100 a week on groceries. Usually it’s around $70 a week.

And we usually go out to dinner once a week.
