First time posting here…my wedding is in late June of this year, and we just received the quote from the florist, which is WAY higher than we thought it would be. So I’m just trying to come up with alternatives…flowers are important to me, but I also have lots of friends and family who are crafty and happy to help with DIY projects. So my question is, has anyone had good luck using grocery store flowers? Either just buying cut flowers or having the florist there make the arrangements?
Also, if anyone is from Cincinnati/Kentucky, do you know of any flower marts or wholesale options? Our venue is in Eastern KY, about an hour east of Lexington.

We are buying our flowers through costco. They were a great deal we probably saved over $1500. They will be doing the bouquets & butonnaires and we will be buying bulk roses to do the centerpieces ourselves.

I’m a Cincinnati gal, and my friend had her flowers done through Kroger. They were beautiful!!! And more affordable than a floral boutique, for sure. If I hadn’t known that’s where they were from, I would have never realized they weren’t from a specific florist.

I purchased my flowers from a local florist and arranged them on my own. That saved a lot of money! I also considered using 50flowers.com and costco. On the day before I ran to the grocery store to grab some flowers for filler but I don’t know if I’d feel good about that being my only resource for flowers. They have different flowers every day so it might be hard to ensure that you would get the flowers in the quantity you want.

@Gemstone: hi! Thanks…do you know which Kroger she used?
