Warning.. Pic/Info Heavy!
The most recent decision in this wedding process has been the menswear. Honestly I had given this question very little thought prior to entering the tux store except that I knew I wanted grey, its different, its hot right now, and still classy.
My fiance and I entered Menswearhouse last Sunday to view the selection, me already know there was only one charcoal grey tux: BLACK by Vera Wang in Charcoal.
It was very sharp in person and we loved it, but also the most expensive. The saleslady was very kind and helpful though and helped us sort out there rewards program/coupons ect. to achieve an affordable rate. But.. I was at a loss as to the vest/tie decision. The mannequin looked VERY sharp in a same color/fabric vest and black tie, but I wanted my groom to stand out a bit. We left the store still undecided as to what to do.
The next day I was looking up grey tuxes here on the Hive 🙂 And inspiration struck… The groom and groomsmen could where different color greys! But, most of the inspiration for this look has the groom in a lighter gray… I was sure I wanted the fiance in dark. Thus I started an extensive search for grooms in dark grey and groomsmen in light gray… I will compile my results here 🙂
First of all, this would be the light tux that the groomsmen could potentially wear: Calvin Klein Gray Two-Button Tux

Ok now for an extensive collection of pics of dark/light grey combos….
My girls are in mix-matched light pinks, so here is an example of what that looks like with light grey:
By far my favorite example… but is this look achievable???
Although they don’t have tuxes on you can visualize the colors here:

These seem very light:

For kicks 😉

Now that I have completed exhausted everybody… *My apologies* Here are my thoughts:
I like the idea of charcoal groom, light grey groomsmen. I just have this strange fear that light grey doesn’t look as good and that the groomsmen will looky frumpy… (where do I get these ideas????) Should I go for it, or play it safe will all charcoal? Thanks hive 🙂
