I think in most situations that would be fine. So long as your groom is okay with that. In my case, we have to dress the groom and groomsmen differently so people can tell m fiance apart from his best man, who is his identical twin!

In our wedding, FH, all his groomsmen, and both of our dads are all wearing the same thing.

My Fiance and the guys are all wearing the same.  The only thing different will be their ties.  Our fathers will be in black tuxes (guys are in grey).

@Rupp.Anderson:  Yes, my husband and his groomsmen all wore identical black tuxes. It was pretty obvious which one was the groom. The dads picked their own outfits though (and both wore very nice suits).

Our groomsmen and my FH are both wearing the same thing essentially, but FH is wearing all 3 pieces of the suit (the guys will just wear two) and he’s wearing a pocket square. We wanted them to look the same, but just have FH be slightly different.

I think it’s good to have a little bit of distinction between the groom and the groomsmen. It’s his special day too! 😉 My Fiance and his groomsmen will be wearing the same suit for a unified look but he’ll have a different coloured tie and boutonniere from them.

I’m sure it will be fine for those who know you, but I find it super annoying when I look at wedding photos online and you can’t tell whose the groom cause everyone looks the same.  Maybe even a boutiner or something to show he’s the groom just in case

@ash064:  It’s almost always obvious because he’s the one standing next to the girl in the white dress.

In our case we considered coloured bowties for the groomsmen (and I probably would have prefered that), but DH’s decision was that black looked better so they all wore black. I guess the bottom line is let the groom decide.

It’s generally okay! If you’re concerned, consider a different colored tie or vest, or some kind of accessory to separate groom from groomsmen from fathers, etc. Otherwise, it should be just fine!

The groom, best men (2), and FOB and FOG, plus Brother-In-Law of Bride and Brother-In-Law of groom will all be wearing the same thing! We are having a casual wedding on the beach and everyone is wearing linen khaki colored pants and a white shirt. We will see how it looks in the photos. (I only requested that the groom and the best men wear the same thing, but everyone else wanted in on the deal, so they didnt have to worry about what to wear!)
