Question for everyone –
My fiance wants to wear a black suit and his groomsmen all wear grey. i am not sold on the idea because it seems to me like it would look odd or an accident. Has anyone ever heard or seen this done?

I haven’t ever seen that, but maybe the Groomsmen could wear more of a charcoal grey so it’s not so stricking with a black suit? My our boys are wearing black suits with charcoal grey vests and black ties. Fiance will be wearing a white vest and tie to stand out.

My brother’s groomsman all wore gray suits and my brother wore navy. It looked great.
Our wedding is black tie but all of the groomsmen will be wearing traditional black bow ties, and Fiance will be wearing an egg shell bow tie.

@TheFutureMrsLamkin: I know!!!
I was totally worried when my Fiance went and bought a taupe suit–I knew he was going to let the dads and Groomsmen wear what they already owned, so they would all be mis-matched. But it is working out that everyone has a black sports jacket (or dark charcoal), and will wear black pants. They are going to look awesome, and the Fiance will stand out. It is going to ROCK!!!

DH wore an Ivory tux jacket and everyone else wore black. He also wore black pants. It really looked great.

thanks for the pictures! I can’t decide if I love it, but at least it gives me a visual to share with my fiance. The groom in black and guys in grey is not that bad, especially like it was mentioned, if it was a darker grey.

I love the idea of navy! My fiance already wants his guys to wear navy ties, so if he was in a navy suit and a silver tie, I think it would look great.
Thanks everyone for the great ideas! I am happy to hear I am not the only one out there with these questions

Personally, I love this idea. Fiance isn’t sold, but I’m working on him!
