Okay, my Fiance wants to buy a new tuxedo because he would like to own it. He has found one he likes for $275.00 plus $20 for the color of tie for the wedding, however I don’t know if the GMs will be able to find a tuxedo that looks like his. I really do NOT want to ask the GMs to BUY a tuxedo for the wedding (even though the tuxedos cost less than a lot of the BMs dresses I looked at for my sister’s wedding – idk what I want for my wedding yet). So, if he wants to buy and the GMs will more than likely want to rent, what should we do? How do we find tuxedos that LOOK similiar to FI’s tuxedo?

Honestly I think all tuxedos and suits look the same. Haha. I guess I just don’t have an eye for that stuff.
I bet most rental places have a pretty good selection. Or alternatively, you could purposely make them different than your fiancé.

I don’t think they need to look the same. I assume your bridesmaids will not be wearing white dresses. So why does the groom and Groomsmen have to match? Just a thought anyway.
Also I wanted to say how great I think it is that your Fiance wants to buy his tux! I’ve never understood why us girls buy our wedding dresses (which really are are once-wear item of clothing) any the guys rent, they are far more likely to wear theirs again (with the exception of tails maybe but even then there are re-wear occassions).

Thanks. FI’s tux is very unique looking, not really sure how to explain it. It has a thick “collar” with a thiner fabric lining that. Yeah, that makes no sense. LOL. I’m sure we could find some really nice suits that look similiar and I bet people won’t think anything of it because the groom is in a different tux. We were also considering asking the GMs if they would want to wear their military dress clothes, since they are both in the US Army, and FI’s family comes from a LONG line of service members – even though he isn’t in the army- but we didn’t know if that would be awkward for them.
I’m actually really glad that Fiance said he wanted to buy his tuxedo too. I felt like it was going to be a waste of money to just rent his tuxedo when he’ll more than likely have use for a tuxedo again. As for the wedding dress, I’ve heard of people getting their dresses altered and dyed after the wedding so they can wear it time and time again, not sure if I’d do something like that, but it sounds like an interesting way to repurpose a gown that is only worn once (unless you plan to sell or something else with it).

My Fiance owns his tux and his groosmen will be renting. I personally never notice the differences between tuxes unless one is powder blue or something! Plus, i think if uniformity is important to you, the key is to have all the groomsmen match each other. Also, I like when the groom stands out a bit from the groomsmen. For instance, my Fiance will wear a bowtie and studs, and his groosmen will wear black skinny ties with their tuxes.
