I wanted to step outside my mind for a bit and see what everyone else thought of the following. Originally I wanted my fiance and the Groomsmen to wear dark gray suits (which they all already bought), and the groom was differentiated from the rest by wearing a silver tie (while the Groomsmen wore navy ties). Then I started to think maybe I wanted my fiance to wear a black suit so that we would stand out as a couple, while the Bridesmaid or Best Man all wore navy dresses and the Groomsmen all wore gray suits. At this point, he has the option to switch to a black suit if he wants, but having him in gray and the Groomsmen in black is not an option because one of the GM’s suits is altered already.
Which do you think would look better?

Personally I’d keep him in the grey suit with just the different tie. He’ll look different but not so different that they’ll look odd together.

I agree with the PP – I’d keep him in gray with a different tie. He’ll still stand out but its a more unified look.

I’d keep him in grey, my Darling Husband wore a pinstriped grey suit to stand out from the other guys a little more.

Keep him in the gray. I don’t think the black will stand out with the BMs in navy. In addition to a different tie, your Fiance can also wear a different boutonniere. Maybe something bigger and/or bolder in color.

We were having a similar issue and went with Fiance wearing the same suit as the guys. He will wear a white shirt under the dark gray suit though, rather than black that hte gm’s are wearing. I’d stick with the same suit but do something to make him stand out — the different tie or whatever. You could do a different colored bout too.,
