I’ve asked for some IRL opinions, but they have all said the same- it’s up to me. With that, I need your opinions!
My fiance is in law enforcement (also serving on the honor guard for our town), and will soon be a Captain in the ARNG. They wear Stetsons as part of their military dress uniform. We are getting married at a historic tavern/inn with a militia gun salute.
We are quietly patriotic, ironically in real life.
His sister is standing as his best man (civilian), then we have one fellow ARNG officer, a former Marine (who may or may not want to wear his uniform), my brother and his best friend who are also civilians.
Do I…
Have him wear his dress blues (army) and then suits/dress for everyone else?
Have him wear his dress blues and then have the fellow officer wear his, the marine wear his blues, then suits for the other two, with a dress?
Have him wear his uniform along with the other army officer, then suits for the other three and a dress?
Have them all wear the same tuxes (black) and a dress for his sister?
Have everyone wear togas and say eff it?
I’m getting married on 7/22/17 and it may be HOT. My birthday is 2 days later, and I always remember how stinkin hot Massachusetts can be.
Side note: I believe I’m also having one of my good guy friends stand on my side so I would need a suit for him as well (and it evens it out for boys and girls.I currently have two Maid/Matron of Honor, two bridesmaids and one brides usher.
If you could at all help me out that would be great. I haven’t been able to chose colors due to this because black suits vs. army uniforms makes a difference on colors.
I was thinking either blush pink (think rose quartz dresses), ivory dresses, gold or black dresses…
My color scheme may be black/gold and light pink, with subtle old americana colors as well.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
