My fiance and I are going to be getting married outdoors in Key West FL which is hot and all the way down south. We are planning an informal wedding with no groomsmen or bridesmaids. My dress is fancier than I orginally planned though it is tea length which kinda helps with the informalness of the wedding.. I pretty much told my fiance he could wear whatever he wants as long as it’s not shorts and if he is going to wear flip flops I’d like it better if they were leather. At first he was thinking of nice pants and button up shirt but my aunt after seeing my dress said he should do something a little fancy to stand out from the guests. He keeps asking me what I think he should wear but I’m really not sure about men’s clothes… Are there any weddingbees out there who have any suggestions for a grooms attire if not a tux or suit…
Also, what should the father of the bride wear??

I would suggest a nice linen suit, maybe in khaki.

This is from my friends wedding. This isn’t a great pic but they used a khaki suit, white shirt, and brown loafers. No tie

It’s fine to be informal but I still think the groom should visually stand out from the guests. If you don’t though, have him wear whatever you both feel comfortable with!

“One those long sleeved ruffled 1950s tux shirts” … too funny.
If you are on a beach, I would think the fewer layers the better – especially if it is mid-day. If it’s more of an evening ceremony, I vest or jacket might be in order if there is a breeze.

I’d vote for a khaki suit, no tie, or a really nice Tommy Bahama type shirt (Tommy Bahama even has a “wedding collection” http://www.tommybahama.com/TBG/Men/Wedding.jsp’ defer=’defer) and khaki pants.

We’re getting married in Mexico and my guy has decided to do a grey suit with open collar crisp white shirt. No vest, no tie. He’ll be wearing a nice matching belt and shoes, but other than that he’s kept it light and simple!
