So the FH has decided on a ring type he would like. He has gone for the ultra classic, half-flat, 4mm, 14k yellow gold band.
But he is not excited about paying the $450 that our jewellers quoted for the ring based on the standard price of gold right now.
Does anyone know of a great place to buy a very simple gold band for the groom?
We have considered Kays or one of the big retail places. I am a bit skeptical about those kinds of jewellery store, but how can you go wrong with a simple gold band?
Or is there an online retailer people have been really pleased with?
FH would like to spend no more than $250. He understands why we dropped the bucks on my set, but he doesn’t wear any jewellery and he wants something really simple so he doesn’t want to spend a ton on his ring

I used e-weddingbands.com and was quite pleased, I got a 3mm 14k white gold comfort fit band for $140. It included free shipping and engraving. They seem to have good prices for simple bands.

@Fayette: I just ordered the FH’s ring from e-weddingbands.com!! They have been awesome. They even called me personally to confirm that my shipping address (FH’s office) is different to our billing address (our house).

Gold is gold. A gold band will be pretty much the same anywhere, not like buying diamonds and more intricately designed jewelry.
4mm 14k yellow gold band for $97-$109 @ WalMart
4mm 14k yellow gold for $199 @ JCPenney
