I am planning on getting my lucky fiance a grooms cake, I didn’t think it was going to be too hard but apparently it is.. I just got a quote of $500.. yea.. I don’t think so..
How much was yours if you had one? Would you do it again??

Ours was probably only about $100. We served it at the rehearsal dinner, so it only needed to feed about 40 people. I’d absolutely do it again!

Wow. That seems so expensive. Could you see about getting one from Walmart or a small bakery? Usually grooms cakes aren’t that big so unless you want something hard to do then it shouldn’t be that much

I wanted one with the likeness of his video game, but that consisted of a 10×10 sqaure cake, with some fondant (yes some decoration), and a molded dude.

The baker mentioned using the sheet cake that would usually be in the back to feed the guests (in addition to the actual wedding cake) for the groom’s cake so NO additional expense. WOOHOO!

If you don’t want something too complicated, maybe you know someone who’s good at baking? My mom and aunt made hubby’s groom’s cake. I just paid for some of the supplies (fondant, food dye, cake box) so it was very inexpensive.
