Fiance swears this is something he’s seen at many weddings, after the first dance and the parents dances there is a “brides choice” (dedicated to the groom) and a “grooms choice” (dedicated to the bride) song.
Anyone else heard of this??

I think I have heard of it before. We were thinking about just doing the bride’s choice and the groom’s choice but I don’t want to delay the dinner or partying any further, so we went with just the first dance. Maybe you can have your choice dances “sprinkled” throughout the night.

I’ve never heard of or seen this at any wedding I’ve been to, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t out there. I do know though that it won’t be happening at our wedding. Fiance isn’t that big on dancing, so I’ll be doing good to get him through our first dance!!

Never heard of that. Isn’t that what the first dance is? After the parent dances (which are optional), the dance floor is opened to all the guests. Your guests will get bored from waiting to be able to dance, unless they aren’t the dancing type at all.

We are doing this, mostly to passify me. I agreed to participate in a coreographed, silly first dance, so this is our way to still get to dance to our song(s). We each have a song for eachother…. So, it wasn’t something we did intentionally, but it works.

I hadn’t heard of a term for it, but that’s more or less what we did for our first dance. I picked one of my favorite songs in Spanish and fiance my husband picked one of his favorite songs in English, and we told our DJ about them a few days before the wedding and he cropped and mixed them together into one song, and that was our first dance.
