- Wedding: October 2009
Hi hive – We have less than 3 weeks left till our wedding, and we’re still unsure as to what to have my fiance wear. He’s fairly picky about what he will and won’t wear, in addition to being really tall, so that makes this more of a chore.
The scenario: Sunday afternoon wedding (4pm), outdoors at a pavilion situated next to a creek. I’m wearing a floor-length, simple wedding dress. The BMs are wearing knee-length blue cotton dresses from JCrew. Sunflowers are the flower and yellow accent of choice.
I’m needing some help and some advice from you, ladies, on what my Fiance and his men should wear. Please let me know your thoughts/suggestions.
Option #1 (his favorite): A dark brown blazer with a white button-up shirt, no tie, and dark wash jeans. (He’s from WY and tells me this is the most “him.”) I like the blazer, but kind of wish I could get him to go with khakis, but he doesn’t think khakis are any dressier than jeans. I think they would look OK with the blazer if he wore a light pair of khakis, but he’s not a fan of khakis with the blazer. He really wants the blazer with jeans.(Notice in the picture of the blazer, the model is wearing dark jeans. Fiance wouldn’t have a tie on though).
Option #2: A khaki suit that is almost a gray shade. It’s (by far) the most expensive of the options, and probably the one he’d be least likely to wear again. He’s just not a suit guy. It’s about the only suit he likes though, so it’s an option.
Option #3: A tan sport coat with some kind of pants. I don’t have any clue what color pants would look good with this, nor do I know if he’d get much use of it afterwards. I don’t like the non-matched but also tan pants the model is sporting in the picture.
Ok, so there are the contenders. PLEASE give me some thoughts. Which do you like best? Should I be OK with jeans? Should we realistically spend as much on his suit as we did on my dress? I just don’t know…Thanks (preemptively) for the advice, hive 🙂
