I’m giving him the tie he’ll wear with the suit he bought for the wedding. I found 8 or 9 that I liked and showed him, and he picked about 5 from those. I bought the one of those I liked best – he won’t know which one it is until he opens it before our rehearsal.

We are trying to be as utilitarian as possible about our wedding – and so our gifts to each other have to be things we can really use. I thought about cufflinks, but he’d hardly use them. I’m pretty sure that for his gift to me he’s replacing my favorite jcrew leather flip flops (mine are at the embarrassing stage of falling apart).

I also bought the tie he will be wearing the day of the wedding. He wanted a tie that had all of our wedding colors (silver, light blue, and white) and I found one! He knows he is getting a tie, just doesn’t know what it looks like. We decided it would be nice to get each other things that we can wear on our special day. He is buying me the haircomb I want as a gift.

I agree that he will probably never use [cufflinks] again.  I’d like my FH to gift me my wedding day jewelry, so I was thinking a nice watch for him.  I was also thinking of us each getting the other cologne/perfume so whenever we use it later on, we can remember our wedding day.

I gave Darling Husband iPhone cufflinks (he’s an iOS developer). I doubt he’ll have many oppertunities to wear them in the future but that’s okay. They were for our wedding and they served their purpose perfectly.

Just because I love this picture…

@Mrs.LaFountain:  I like the idea of cufflinks! I’m thinking of doing the same. My Fiance has a shirt that requires cufflinks and he doesn’t have any. He did but his anti-christ ex gf sold them behind his back. Problem is I don’t want him to rent cufflinks with the tux when I’ll be giving him a pair. Are cufflinks extra with a tuxedo?

Oh and Etsy has a lot of cute novelty cufflinks!
