I would joke with my cousin to have me be part of his party when he was thinking of kicking one of his groomsmen out. He went so far as to think seriously on it, saying I would wear a bridesmaid dress, but wear a bouteneire or a coursage, but not hold a bouquet. He didn’t want me looking like a bridesmaid since I wasn’t.

ETA: The bridesmaid dresses are black so it wasn’t like it was going to be obvious at first that I was wearing the same dress as the bridesmaids.

My fiance’s sister is his best “person,” and she’ll have a bouquet. I’ve seen this in other weddings too where there were multiple attendants of both genders. Why not? The distinction of bouquet vs. boutonniere based on whose person they are doesn’t make sense to me…

Ours wore a black dress and a bout looked good!
