My dress is ivory, FI’s shirt will be white.  He is wearing raw linen coloured pants though, but I still think a white shirt looks better.

I find men’s “ivory” looks yellow.

Agree with PP, not a fan of men’s ivory shirts.  I wore ivory, my H wore a white shirt with is black tux, and it wasn’t noticeable or weird.

My dress is Ivory, FIs tux shirt is white.

     My dress:

    FI’s tux:

I don’t think its even noticeable unless your dress is super ivory…closer to a champagne than a beige.

I was ivory and dh was white shirt ivory vest.  I thought the mens ivory was way too yellow.

No. I’m wearing slightly off white, and he’s wearing white. I wanted his Groomsmen to wear white shirts they already had, and I wanted my groom to match. It would never occur to me to notice if a B&G didn’t “match”.

Our Groomsmen wore ivory shirts and my dress was also called ivory. Their shirts and my dress matched very well! I think white shirts would have definitely been too white.

I don’t know why the men at tuxedo rental places insist on this. Most ivory shirts are way too yellow and come off as dingy. The men will look way better with white shirts.

@DeathByDesign:  your men’s shirts are the first ivory shirts I have ever seen that didn’t come across as yellow. Maybe formal tuxedo shirts only come in that dingy ivory.

His shirt will be ivory, same with the guys… I didn’t really care either way, but the lady at the bridal salon kept insisting that they get ivory.

My dress is a really light ivory.  On it’s own you might not notice it’s not white, but next to white you can definitely see the difference.  So we decided Fiance will wear a white shirt with a light ivory vest and tie.  I wanted to set him apart from the groomsmen, and I didn’t like the white vest on white shirt.  I saw that that at another wedding and the shirt and vest blended together and looked like just a white shirt.
