I’ve been to weddings wear the groom wore long tails and the groomsmen wore regular tuxedo jackets. I dont think the bridesmaid have to wear full length dresses, tea length should be fine

It seems a little weird to me to have the groom and groomsmen in different length coats, but I think the bridesmaids can wear any length dress you/they want (regardless of what the groomsmen wear).

The men normally wear the same style of tuxedo.

I think it would be fine for the groom to wear tails.. the groom usually wears something that looks at least somewhat different from the groomsmen.  Your bridesmaids aren’t wearing a long white bridal gown like yours… why should the groomsmen & groom have to wear the same thing?  LoL.  If he wants the tails, I say go for it.
