Most home ovens are not deep enough to accomodate an 18″ pan,

I used to have a cake pan that was 18″ in diameter but it was a half moon shape and you had to bake 2 cakes and put them together to make a full circle.

I know that. What I said was an 18″ diameter pan, whether a regular cake pan or a springform pan (used for cheesecake) can’t fit in a home oven.

Remember that you wouldn’t cut ordinary slices from a cake this size. They would be much too large. You cut in in circles like this:

Maybe you should ask a baker if they can do a cheesecake. Or have you already tried and nobody will do it?

Do you have Cheesecake Factory in ATL? We talked with our local CF about helping us out with cheesecake for guests and they were really helpful, although we didn’t end up going with them in the end.
