- Wedding: June 2012
Hey all, my Fiance asked me to post this to you tonight to get your advice as to what to do. One of his groomsmen dropped out of the wedding tonight. It seems that he forgot that he agreed to be a groomsman and decided to enroll in an overseas seminar related to his field, happening the weekend of our wedding. Besides being really bummed that his friend flaked on him like that, Fiance is not happy with the idea of now only having five guys to walk with my six ladies. He is concerned about symmetry (being a visual artist), and that one of my girls will not have someone to dance with for the first dance.
Can he/should he ask someone else? How would he go about doing that in a way that would not be insulting to that person, as he will clearly know that he was not a first choice? Also, Fiance does not have all that many close guy friends, and he has no brothers. All of his close friends are already groomsmen, along with one of my cousins. He has two male cousins and feels that he cannot ask one without asking the other too. I suggested he ask one of my bridesmaid’s husband, as we have been good friends with him too.
Thoughts? How have you handled similar situations?
