Hi! My fiance and I are really struggling with what to give our groomsmen. Our budget is very tight, about $30 per person, and our groomsmen are all so different from each other. A couple of them really like alcohol and we thought it would be great to give them a cap catcher and a bottle of their favorite beer, but some of our other groomsmen would probably not enjoy that gift or ever use it. My brother is a groomsman and I honestly have no idea what to get him. He doesn’t drink, he doesn’t like sports, he doesn’t grill or use knives or any of the typical stuff guys do. Honestly he doesn’t have any real hobbies except watching tv and listening to music, so I’m at a total loss on his gift. Can anyone think of something that EVERYONE uses that would be a good gift for him? And do all of our gifts for our groomsmen need to be the same, since they’re all so different? I think this is the thing I’ve struggled with the most during all this planning! Bridesmaid gifts are so much easier!

mattiematilda: You do not have to buy them all the same thing. In fact, it is much more thoughtful to individualize the gifts. Think of what you would buy for their birthday.
Does your brother download his music? Buy him an iTunes Gift Crad.
Does he have a favorite band? Buy him their latest CD, a hoodie etc.

mattiematilda: The gifts don’t have to be the same at all.
Get them all something different based on their personalities.

You could buy your brother a personalised pint glass – even though he doesnt drink, its a keep sake and something he can cherish forever. Plus, it doesnt have to be filled with alcohol – we have a guinness glass at home that pretty much always full of coke! 🙂

mattiematilda: i wpuld personalize the gifts. And you can definitely grt them all something within budget.
for our groomsmen we got them all the same gift bc it worked for them. They are all business men, wear suits everyday, so we got them cufflinks, a tie clip and a money clip

mattiematilda: We gave them a fancy dancy shaving brush and bowl with a classy razor. We also gave them pocket knives engraved with their initials. I think that totalled about $30 each, not counting the tie we gave them to wear on the wedding day. My husband packaged these up really cutely in boxes with crinkle paper and made the “bows” on the outside look like the ties they were going to wear. I wish I had a picture of it! The guys loved the gift though. Here’s what was inside.

In my opinion, I wouldn’t get them anything that has their title on it, as in “Groomsman” etc. I know I don’t want anything that has “Bridesmaid” or “Maid of Honor” on it, but thats just me. I would probably toss it, but I’m a terrible, un-sentimental person haha.
What about a nice little wallet/money clip? I think those could be inexpensive and I think guys typically appreciate that. My SO got one for being in a wedding and always uses it just because its more convenient than an actual wallet.

mattiematilda: My DH got his groomsmen small bottles of whiskey and a whiskey glass (very aplicable to his grouP) but then got them all argyle socks. Kinda fun and cheap, and they all LOVED them.
