Why not do groomsmen in grey, groom in black? My friend did that at her wedding, it looked fantastic.

all Groomsmen & Fiance are wearing charocal grey, his tie will be the only difference to help him “stand out”

Would you be ok with all in grey, but the GM’s with only vests and Fiance in a jacket?

1. I would try to convince him that a different tie is not “too subtle”. It’s pretty clear in this pic which one is the groom

2. he could wear a lighter or darker shade of grey

@Shkragoldfish:  I actually went to a wedding that they did the no jackets for GMs but the groom wore one. It was a more casual wedding though, so it worked, it made the groom look more “fancy” like the bride, compared to the wedding party. If that isn’t an option for you guys, then I think they different shade of grey for your Fiance would be the best idea. I’m with you on the no grey & black. It’s either one or the other for me too! Good luck!

@Shkragoldfish:  what about the groom in navy blue? It still compliments grey nicely without looking as harsh as black?

@vorpalette:  I agree! I love it .. it won’t work for our setting though. But I’m for sure gonna have the guys ditch jackets for picture purposes! 😀
