Could someone give me a little advice on groomsmen and ushers?
We are trying to keep our costs low and have just 2 groomsmen and 2 bridesmaid. We’re having an outdoor wedding, and are expecting 130 guests for a 4PM wedding followed by a cocktail reception with heavy appetizers. I was thinking of having my two male cousins be ushers to assist the seating, and I would not require them to wear a tux (with the exception of my fiance’s dad – who can not afford a tux – we are having the FOB,Bridesmaid or Best Man, Groomsmen, and Fiance wear tuxes). Would that be in bad taste?

Not at all!
Just make sure to ask them to wear a suit – if you want that level of formality – you could also give them a gift of a tie to wear with their suit that could match the colors of your wedding? If those are still out of your budget – a simple boutineir (sp!?) will set them apart from the guests.
Be sure to invite them to the rehearsal so they know what their duties are!

We went to a wedding this weekend where the ushers were young cousins (male, ranging in age from about 10 to 15). They wore black pants and shirts in a color that matched the bridesmaids dresses (a dark red, in this case). They looked quite charming.
