I have 8 Bridesmaid who are wearing Mint or Pink dresses. They will stand Mint/Pink/Mint/Pink…The groom and groomsmen are wearing tan vests and pants. What color shirt and tie should they wear? My dress is ivory so they can wear ivory but what color ties? Do they all wear the same color or do they match the girl they’re walking with. Would a mint shirt and a pink tie be too much? I need advice!!

Go to your local tux shop and get the opinion of the worker. That’s what we did. I was set on a certain tux before we even got there but after seeing a few and getting suggestions from the owner I went with something else. Ultimately the decision was up to me my fiancée didn’t want to be picking out my tux after all I’m sure you didn’t let him pick the dresses.

Hell no to the mint shirt/pink tie combination. Way too much. Personally, I’d say ivory shirts and pink or mint ties. Or ties in a similar color to the dresses, but more saturated or more dusky–purely pastel ties with the tan pants and vests could risk going too far towards a cutesy washed-out easter-basket situation, depending on the exact colors going on and how they look on the individual groomsmen. And IMO you want to go with the same color tie for all the groomsmen, not alternating. Alternatively, you could go with something more unobtrusive like a deep blue or navy tie, that would coordinate without trying to match at all.
Most importantly, what do the groom and groomsmen have to say about it?

I would choose a tan and ivory striped or pattered tie. Green and/or pink would be a bit too “ice cream shop” to me. You can always bring in a bit of color in their boutonniere.

julies1949: thanks for the link. They have a lot of options and I’m really liking the tan stripes 🙂

somedaygroom: The groom and groomsmen are no help at all, which is why I came here. I appreciate the response! I was afraid too many pastels would look Easter-y so I think I’ll be going with ivory shirts and a darker tan, striped tie. 🙂

Maybe try to find a pattern with both colours in it with a neutral vest? I don’t know if it would look any good. This is the first one I found: http://www.lechateau.com/style/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=339050&selectedColor=Blush’ defer=’defer

I would stick with a complimentary color. My BMs are wearing mismatched dresses (blues, purples, and greys) and the GMs will be wearing dusty green ties (I don’t think Fiance is doing vests). I don’t like the matchiness of the GMs wearing alternating colors; I’d probably choose a deeper complimentary color: turquoise, dark rose, gold, etc.
This wedding has the BMs the way you describe: http://theeverylastdetail.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/Mint-and-Pink-Wedding_0024.jpg
I also love these color accents and think you could tie that into the GMs outfits: http://www.weddingsbylilly.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/mint-pink-wedding-theme.001.jpg
