My fi and I are deciding what our groomsmen should wear. We’re having an outside wedding in July and don’t want our groomsmen to be uncomfortable out there. The girls are wearing the David’s Bridal 8567 dress (satin strapless side ruched ballgown with rhinestone brooch). We’re thinking that our guys will just wear really nice pants, shoes, tie, and a shirt – no jacket, no vest. Do you think that will clash with the girls being so fancy? What are all of your groomsmen wearing?

I am also going through the same dilemna. We are having an outdoor ceremony in August and comfort is a priority for the guys. My parents bought my fiance a semi-formal suit for the wedding (per asian tradition).
Now I am wondering if the guys should a) wear their own black suit b) wear pants and a blazer c) rent all the same tux so they match each other, but not the groom d) we can buy them all the same suit
I think in your situation, because the girls are wearing floor length ballgowns, in my opinion, a shirt and tie would be too casual in comparison. I could see if the girls were wearing cocktail dresses. To keep it casual and comfortable but still semi-formal, the guys in navy blue blazers and khakis would look great or something similar like jacket but no tie. That’s just my two cents.

I’m getting married in an outdoor ceremony in September, and we’ve decided to put the guys in pale khaki slacks, white button-down shirts, and navy blazers with ties that will match the girls’ dresses. Undecided on shoes – still trying to find examples in other pics. I think that even though the guys will look a little more casual than the girls (though they’re wearing tea length simple dresses), it will go well with the venue and time of year. The only thing with putting an ensemble together like that is that it takes a long time – much easier to pick out bridesmaid dresses, or suits that have all the pieces already together for you!

I’m getting married in August and the guys are wearing seersucker. I’ll warn you for my group its been a bit of a struggle with the go buy this suit bit.
With the long dresses I think the guys should wear a jacket (at least for pictures). Maybe go to one of the tux rental places and ask them for their lightest weight suits/ tuxes. I’ve seen some pics with light grey/ or khaki suits I liked too. (but I don’t know about rental)

RexSoxGal and I are having very similar styles!
Our ceremony is outside in August. My girls are in David’s Bridal style 81509 in Clover (with my Maid/Matron of Honor in Marine). The guys are wearing Khakis with White Button downs and a Navy Blue Sport Coat. The ties will be green & navy to match the girls~
